  • Partners treat each other with respect and understand his/her limits (including for sexual activity)
  • Partners should feel to communicate openly and be honest with each other
  • Partners should understand each other’s feelings

 

Independence and privacy

  • Partners are allowed not to open up every aspect of their life
  • Partners should keep their own hobbies
  • Partners can still keep their friendships outside their relationship
  • Partners should feel comfortable to express who they are

 

Honesty and trust

  • Partners should feel secure about their relationship
  • Partners should be reliable and have confidence in each other
  • Partners share their feelings with honesty
  • Partners should feel physically and emotionally safe with each other

 

Respectful sexuality

  • Respect one’s body and personal health
  • Interact in appropriate ways and with respect

 

Equality

  • Partners should treat each other equally
  • Partners should consider of each others’ feelings when talking and making decisions
  • Partners should both make decisions about their relationship and both make compromises

 

Safety

  • Relationships should not involve any physical, emotional or sexual violence
  • Partners should feel comfortable with each other

  • Partners should have fun
